Integration problems in practice rarely stem from a lack of APIs. Instead, they occur due to ambiguous master data, poor data synchronization timing, inconsistent field definitions and unclear division of responsibilities. Many hotels are told that systems are “interoperable” during procurement, only to find every scenario requires redefinition during implementation. This is one major reason why Luopan adopts an all-in-one architecture — to minimize such uncertainties.
Common issues:
- Unclear master data sources. Two-way data sync causes data overwrites, leaving no reliable single source of truth.
- Improper synchronization timing. For example, a guest checks out in PMS while outstanding charges remain unsettled in POS, resulting in accounting discrepancies.
- Inconsistent field definitions. Divergent standards for market codes, booking sources, membership levels, outlet codes and other key fields.
- Limited scalability of APIs. Although basic connections are available, additional development and extra costs are required when adding new business scenarios, adjusting workflows or replacing hardware.
Luopan features a centralized database, unified workflows and standard master data, which effectively reduces integration conflicts and long-term maintenance costs.
